Director of Membership Development
Help us keep WAER Syracuse Public Media financially strong by becoming our new Director of Membership Development. You will help us attract and retain members, be a key contact for our alumni, and use your savvy and determination to find other funding sources for our journalism, community engagement and educational efforts. Working with the Newhouse School’s Office of Development & Alumni Engagement, you’ll be the leader of our membership drives, while implementing planned giving and major donor programs. The Membership Director also leads communications with donors and members through digital and social media, as well as personal engagements and events.
Key skills include: Demonstrated success in planning and leading membership and other fundraising efforts; prior experience with fundraising, donor, or CRM, customer relations management, software; familiarity with design software and social media platforms; experience with email generator or other e-mail newsletter programs; grant research and writing experience; event planning and promotion; ability to work as part of team, while also able to be self-directed; detail-oriented with good communications skills; supervisory experience helpful.
