PBS North Coast (PBS NC), serving the Northern California Coast, is accepting applications for the position of Executive Director/CEO.  PBS NC seeks an outstanding leader with demonstrated experience in and understanding of public broadcasting and exceptional oral, written, analytical, administrative, financial planning, fundraising and interpersonal skills.

Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant academic discipline and a strong record of successful and relevant senior management experience (preferably as a general manager) in public telecommunications with accountability to a public and/or educational/cultural institution Board of Directors.

The successful candidate will be development-oriented and will bring energy and creativity to the challenge of building our membership and providing visibility in the communities we serve.  The candidate must have a vision and enthusiasm for, belief in, and understanding of a small public television station and its future in the digital age.

With its studio in Eureka, California, Redwood Empire Public Television operates PBSNC-HD, PBS KIDS, PBSNC-World, PBSNC-Create, and PBSNC-FNX and serves 59,000 viewing households.   PBS North Coast provides both locally-produced and national programming.   The operating budget of the station is approximately $1.8 million.  There are fourteen staff members and a new 20,000 square foot building is on the horizon.

The Executive Director position will be available July 1, 2017.
