Description
Routinely interacts internally with the Development Director, Associate Development Director, WERS Operations Manager, Membership Coordinator and Business Analyst, and with on-air hosts and (student) members of the WERS street team as well as (student) promotions, programming, music, web staff, production and Live Mix coordinators and externally with listeners, contest winners, municipal entities, retail and non-profit organizations, other media, and various departments of the college.
Team player who is detail-oriented, self-starter, and highly organized.
An understanding of the dynamics of radio broadcasting and streaming… including the relationship between product development, production, ratings, and revenue production.
Bachelor’s Degree or commensurate experience (3-5 years) in the field.
Must have a working knowledge of website operation, content management, and social media.
Manage ongoing marketing efforts of WERS including print, outdoor, television, and digital platforms.
Evaluate efficacy of WERS’ current brand
Provide update on station’s current standing in the market place through data driven reports
Develop initiatives that support programming and revenue goals of WERS
Work with student Promotions Coordinator to manage all aspects of WERS promotions, events, and contests including, but not limited to, on-air and online giveaways, remote broadcasts, festivals and concerts as well as other musical and cultural events at which the station and/or air talent has a presence
Develop initiatives that support programming and revenue goals of WERS
Schedule and manage all on-air promos as needed
Oversee WERS website, blogs, podcasts and social media, as well as managing the (student) creative director and street team
Insure compliance with all local, state, and national laws pertaining to contests, events, and promotions, as well as with all FCC rules and regulations pertaining to contests and promotions.
Issue regular press releases to college and external media as needed
Maintain inventory of WERS apparel and other branded items
Other duties and responsibilities relating to promotions and marketing as assigned by the general manager
