ORGANIZATIONAL SUMMARY:
WUSF Public Media is a comprehensive public media organization that operates an NPR news and jazz radio station and an all-classical music radio station, and provides digital content online, through newsletters, podcasts and social media and serves a weekly audience of greater than 350,000. It is a department of the University of South Florida, with 70 employees and a budget of $12 million and provides internships to students. WUSF Public Media’s main studios are on the USF Tampa campus, with a broadcast and music performance studio on the USFSM campus and an office and news production studio on the USFSP campus.

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Sustaining Membership program is a vital component of WUSF Public Media’s overall annual fundraising initiatives and objectives. This position works with the Director of Membership to determine and implement strategies and tactics for growing, recapturing, retaining and upgrading WUSF Public Media’s Sustaining Member program. This position integrates strategies and tactics into multi-channel fundraising campaigns, including on-air campaigns, direct mail, telemarketing, e-mail, and other digital fundraising initiatives; incorporating current and emerging technology.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Using available analysis tools and the resources of Development, Membership, partner organizations, and analysis reports from CDP and Allegiance, assess past sustainer activity and develops a plan for WUSF’s Sustainer Program for the upcoming fiscal year, as well as plans three year and five-year projections. The Sustainer Program Manager will spearhead the implementation of those plans, with a focused approach to improve retention and decrease attrition.  The Sustainer Program Manager will actively engage with colleagues within the public media community to gauge trends, develop insight and apply strategies learned to continue to make recommendations and improvements

Provides customer service to Sustaining members through email, phone and mail to build relationships, and maintain and update sustainer information.

Prepare analysis and written reports on Sustainer’s activity, to assess successes, identify areas of opportunity and make informed decisions.

Assist Membership & Development as needed during pledge drives and other fundraising activities.

Other membership duties as assigned

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
MINIMUM:

This position requires a bachelor’s degree plus two years’ experience or a Master’s degree. Appropriate graduate coursework may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.

PREFERRED:
bachelor’s degree and 2 years of directly related experience. Must be a self-starter, a problem solver, able to work independently and able to think creatively and analytically.  Must have excellent written and verbal skills, working knowledge of donor database/CRM, with membership and fundraising experience with recurring gift programs and database strongly preferred.
