On-Air Fundamentals Cohort Training

Join us January 12-13, 2023 in Dallas

Master the essential components of on-air public radio fundraising alongside your peers with this 1½-day in-person training.

After a three-year pause, our in-person training is back! This in-depth experience brings together cohorts of public radio professionals who are responsible for on-air drives. We use curriculum based on practices at top-market stations, brought to life by Greater Public individual giving advisor Jay Clayton and long-time on-air fundraising producer Colleen Casey. Join your fellow membership, on-air fundraising, and program professionals for a day and a half of intensive learning. Then lean on your new connections and colleagues to stay inspired and help solve your own fundraising challenges.

Cost and Registration

The cost for this in-person training cohort is $699 per person for Greater Public members and $1,399 per person for non-members.

Limit is 18 participants; only two people per station. Travel and hotel are additional. Lunch, snacks and beverages will be provided both days.

 

Timing and Location

When is the event?
Thursday, January 12 & Friday, January 13, 2023

You can plan on meeting for a full day on Thursday, and wrap up by 1pm on Friday.

Where is the event?
Our host station will be KERA in Dallas. The station is located at 3000 Harry Hines Blvd, Dallas, TX 75201

Where should I stay?
Attendees will choose and arrange their own accommodations. There are several options less than 2 miles away from KERA in the Uptown, Design District, and Downtown areas of Dallas. The closest hotel is the Hyatt House Dallas/Uptown.

Instructors

Jay Clayton is Greater Public’s Individual Giving Advisor, and a marketing and public relations professional with three decades of experience in public and commercial radio. Jay has worked with stations across the country of all sizes and formats.

Colleen Casey is fundraising and programming producer with over 25 years of public media experience.  She has pitched, produced, and provided training to fundraisers and programming professionals across the country on both local and national productions. Previously at OPB, Colleen also has experience as a copywriter, educational and event producer. Her passion for public media, flexibility, and ability to help station professionals reach their goals are hallmarks of her work.
