About the Role:
KLCS TV is a PBS network member licensed to the Los Angeles Unified School District, the second largest school district in the country. KLCS supports the educational initiatives of the school district and local community. It serves the Los Angeles community with informative, cultural, entertaining and educational media programming.
As the District’s multimedia education channel, KLCS inspires learners of all ages to higher levels of achievement and personal and professional growth through the use of program and services that educate, inform, and enlighten. KLCS is a multiple Emmy Award-winning noncommercial PBS affiliate station, broadcasting to more than 15 million viewers in Los Angeles and throughout Southern California.
A Broadcast Systems Operator provides operational support by setting up, loading, adjusting, and operating a variety of analog and digital equipment used in television production, post-production, and transmission of programs.
Qualifications:
Two years in a recognized college, university, or technical school with courses in television or film production, broadcasting, communications, digital media, or computer technology or a certificate of completion of specialized curriculum in communications from the armed forces.
Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis provided that graduation from a high school or evidence of equivalent educational proficiency is met.
An Associates in Arts degree with a major in television or film production/broadcasting, communications, or digital media is preferable.
Two years of experience operating video and audio equipment and editing in a broadcast, cable, production or post-production facility is required.
