KTOO Public Media seeks a dynamic, community minded fundraiser and/or sales professional to join our team in Juneau, Alaska. As a part of KTOO’s fundraising team, the sponsorship manager will develop plans to increase revenue through sponsorship support on KTOO’s broadcast and digital platforms and various special projects.

The Community Sponsorship Manager will have a strong focus on cultivating relationships with new businesses and strengthening existing partnerships with organizations in Juneau and throughout Alaska. If you have an entrepreneurial mindset and you’re excited about fact-based information, journalism, music and culture, this is the role for you. You’ll be stepping into a mature sponsorship program that still has a lot of space for innovation and growth.

This position reports directly to the Community Fundraising Director and will work closely with other management and development staff at KTOO to build community partnerships and raise sponsorship funds.  Duties include:

  • Develop, implementing and maintaining an annual plan to raise sponsorship support for all KTOO Public Media services (KTOO, KRNN, KXLL, 360TV and associated digital products)
  • Create comprehensive strategic sales packages and sponsorship opportunities leveraging KTOO’s integrated portfolio of platforms
  • Cultivate, maintain and manage relationships with business, corporate, and non-profit partners and act as liaison to the community
  • Meet or exceed annual and project-based revenue goals
  • Prepare and maintain contracts, ensure proper logging and airing of announcements and produce underwriting spots; work with KTOO staff to ensure all sponsorship language is compliant with KTOO and FCC policies and guidelines
  • Manage media sponsorships and trade agreements
  • Assist with membership drives and special event fundraising activities for the organization

Training, Skills, Knowledge and/or Experience: (R) if required or (P) if preferred

  • Understanding of the mission of public media organizations, and the capability to articulate the mission to sponsors, community partners, and donors (P)
  • Oral and written communications skills, including donor centered writing skills (R)
  • Excellent organizational, time management and teamwork skills (R)
  • Ability to personally raise funds and meet annual fundraising goals (P)
  • At least two years of relevant experience in sales or non-profit development (P)

Annual Salary:  $58,290-$60,860
