COORDINATING PRODUCER – ELECTION 2020 – KCUR #75519
KCUR 89.3 FM
Kansas City
,
MO
Application Deadline: Friday, Oct 11, 2019
Description
The Opportunity
We’re hiring a Coordinating Producer to assist in the ambitious work — from community engagement to reporting to talk segments — of “Election 2020: Listening to America.” This public media project will connect the work of local collaboratives and stations to a larger narrative about the diversity in perspectives at play across the country. The Coordinating Producer must be able to jump in at any point in the process in whatever role is needed; and they must be able to handle uncertainty and solve problems. It’s a particularly good role for someone who relishes the challenges of audio and video. Regular travel expected.
This individual will provide ongoing technical and audio support for engagement, events, reporting and training related to all aspects of the Election 2020 project. The Coordinating Producer also will research, report and produce content at the direction of the central team.
Election 2020: Listening to America is a new grant from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting. The 18-month, $1.9 million grant will support a new level of collaboration among public radio stations to cover the 2020 elections. The project is led by KCUR 89.3, the NPR affiliate in Kansas City, where the central team is located. KCUR’s Donna Vestal is the Managing Director of Election 2020. KCUR is hiring six full-time staff to be a part of the central staff. For the right candidate, we are open to a remote workplace. This position is limited duration, 12-18 months.
See www.kcur.org for the complete job description and for information about KCUR and Kansas City.
Review of applications will begin on Thursday September 26 , 2019. This position will remain open until filled. KCUR is an editorially independent service of the University of Missouri – Kansas City. Apply online:
