The Opportunity

We’re hiring a Corporate Account Executive to join OPB’s corporate support team! We have a highly collaborative team of 11 who take ownership of their work; and enjoy having autonomy in their role, but understand the importance of communication needed to be part of a cohesive team.

We are looking for someone who is motivated to leverage their sales skills with the greater purpose of generating income to continue to support OPB’s mission. You’ll use your research skills to keep pulse of what is happening in the wider community and conduct outreach to prospective clients. Through this position you’ll build and maintain relationships with a variety of organizations from corporations to family- owned businesses and other nonprofits. Position Details

As a part of the Corporate Support team, secure sponsorships from organizations and brands who want to market to Oregon and SW Washington individuals. This position identifies and connects with prospective sponsors, develops and maintains positive relationships with sponsors, maintains records, follows internal processes and guidelines, and reaches personal and department sponsorship/income goals.

Responsibilities

60% – Contact prospective sponsors for the purpose of securing program sponsorship to fulfill sponsorship revenue goals and organization needs.

  • Analyze the marketing, public relations and charitable giving potential of prospective sponsors.

30% – Provide the following client services:

  • Develop, maintain, and grow positive relationships with sponsors.
  • Coordinate and monitor on-air spot production and accurate scheduling and fulfillment of on-air and digital recognition.
  • Create and monitor sponsor content and adherence to public broadcasting and OPB guidelines (under the advisement of the spot review committee).
  • Maintain accurate client and prospect records in Salesforce.
  • Maintain correct billing and contract information for all sponsorship agreements.
  • Adhere to accounting department payment and collection procedures.

5% – Participate in activities to advance organizational strategic priorities, including DEI efforts for our audience and workplace.

5% – Participate in marketing and action plans, including use of rating research and software, and development and preparation of presentation materials.

Working Conditions

Extended use of a computer and phone. The Corporate Support team will work from home indefinitely, with a heavily reliance on virtual meetings. This position may require flexible working hours to respond to client needs. In the future, this position may also require frequent regional travel to attend: in-person staff meetings, in-person prospect and client meetings, and in-person events.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 2 years of proven ability to initiate, build and maintain and grow successful business relationships with a large number of clients.
  • Experience working in a team environment.
  • Ability to sell an intangible service.
  • Proven ability to initiate, build and maintain and grow successful business relationships with a large number of clients.
  • Excellent communication skills including diplomacy, negotiating, writing correspondence, and oral presentations to individuals and groups.
  • Strong computer skills, including experience with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and contact management software.
  • Proactive, oriented to problem solving, teamwork, systematic thinking and constant pursuit of improvement.
  • Adaptable and flexible to demands of workflow and nature of projects.
  • Must take initiative and balance multiple priorities with speed and accuracy.
  • Ability to project a professional demeanor and perform activities in a manner that benefits OPB, KMHD and the community we serve.
  • Access to transportation to meetings and events as needed
  • Genuine enthusiasm for the services and mission of OPB..

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communications, Marketing or related field.
  • Sales experience in media and/or non-profit environment, selling an intangible service.
  • Successful professional sales experience managing multiple accounts from prospecting to billing.
  • Ability to sell successfully when the buyer must comply with rules (i.e.: FCC regulations) they may not agree with .
  • Experience using Salesforce

Additional Information

  • This position reports to the Director of Corporate Support and is benefits eligible.
  • The probable hiring range for this exempt position is between $55,000 and $60,000 annually, depending on qualifications
