Daily News Editor
KUNR Public Radio (KUNR-FM) in sunny Reno, NV is seeking a daily news editor to join our newsroom. The main function of the KUNR Daily News Editor is to collaborate with the News Director on daily news coverage, largely executing newscast content by researching, assigning, editing, and producing spot news coverage. The Daily News Editor will also lead various newsroom projects as assigned by the News Director. The Daily News Editor will supervise interns, freelancers, and partners as assigned.
KUNR is known nationally for its innovative programming, including our award-winning English/Spanish bilingual reporting initiative and our high school KUNR Youth Media program. Additionally, in the past seven years, we’ve trained roughly 40 college reporters. The daily news editor will be a leader in our efforts to train the next generation of journalists while providing vision to our breaking news and spot coverage for a vast listening area.

The ideal candidate will have an Associate’s Degree and four (4) years of related work experience or a Bachelor’s Degree and three (3) years of related work experience or a Master’s degree and two (2) year of related work experience. Related professional experience includes journalism experience and supervisory or project management experience.
