Digital Media News Specialist

Southern Illinois University Carbondale invites applications and nominations for position of Digital Media News Specialist. This position is responsible for researching, interviewing, editing, and writing stories with a focus on health and environment. This content will be distributed over the air, online, and throughout the Regional Journalism Collaborative, “Illinois Newsroom.” Some travel, including nights and weekends, required.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree required in broadcast journalism, electronic media, or related field; and four years of professional broadcast journalism experience or equivalent professional multi-media journalism experience. One year of experience in digital audio editing and digital media production.  Demonstrated successful supervisory experience with professionals, students, or volunteers.

Compensation: The salary for this position is commensurate with qualifications and experience; there is an excellent fringe benefits package.
