PBS Utah is seeking a dynamic and digitally savvy Producer to join our team of curious and compassionate short and long- form storytellers and journalists. The Producer should be a multifaceted digital video expert who can field produce, shoot, and edit for our Modern Gardener YouTube series; produce digital content for grant-funded, station-wide projects; create original digital content for YouTube, Instagram, Facebook and/or Tik Tok as part of multi-platform productions, and help PBS Utah grow our footprint in the digital space. This is a hybrid work position.
  1. Produce, shoot, edit, write copy and publish for Modern Gardener, our Utah gardening series on YouTube
  2. Produce, shoot and edit PBS grant-funded digital content, typically once or twice a year
  3. Research, write, shoot and edit original, digital content
  4. Create and execute basic graphics, photo-cropping, color-correction and audio correction as needed
  5. Maintain editorial integrity and adhere to a high journalistic code of standards and ethics

Bachelor’s degree in Communication, Journalism, or a related field, or equivalency, plus three years of directly related experience in media production, content creation or television.

The ideal candidate has excellent editing skills using Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe Suite; strong digital storytelling skills; excellent videography and lighting skills; solid copy writing skills; proficiency in platform-specific data analysis and data reporting; excellent organizational and time management skills; excellent written and verbal communication skills; and the ability to collaborate and communicate with internal and external stakeholders with diplomacy, trust, and integrity.
Preferences: Knowledge and/or experience in digital platforms such as YouTube, Instagram, TikTok and Facebook. Demonstrated cross-cultural communication skills. Previous experience in communicating with and/or telling the stories of underrepresented groups. The ability to write and speak fluently in a second language.
