Description
WSKG Public Media (NPR and PBS) is seeking a Digital Projects Coordinator.
WSKG provides great media content to 21 counties across upstate New York and Northern Pennsylvania through 4 television stations, a news/talk radio station and a classical/jazz/folk music radio station, plus a growing website and app. We’ve got a lot going on – national TV & radio broadcasts, a growing newsroom, educational support to teachers, learning opportunities for children and families, science education to young people and adults and local television productions about our region’s history, culture and the arts.
What you’ll do: You’ll help us connect with the community and grow our digital outreach. You’ll keep our social media, website and App up-to-date, smart and engaging with lots of local, regional and national content. You’ll represent the station on social media by engaging with followers, moderating and replying to comments. You’ll work with others to create and post original content to our digital platforms and help produce digital events. You’ll help raise money for the station through email and digital efforts. And, you’ll help us keep up with the best digital and social media practices of stations across the public media family.
This person reports to the Director of Development & Marketing and works closely with the Promotions Associate and station content creators. Duties include maintaining and updating station website and App, identify and solve problems, ensure content from national production partners automatically imports using a variety of APIs working with PBS & NPR digital teams as necessary. Post, embed and/or share content to relevant places on the website, including program schedules, digital promotions, underwriting and development tiles. Plan for and oversee transition to a new web platform expected in 2021. Manage, monitor, post, respond, moderate and maintain station social media accounts on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter & LinkedIn. Manage posting schedules for station departments, balance competing needs and maintain station voice and reputation. Collaborate with content developers to help create, schedule and post social media content. Provide technical support for digital events via Zoom, Google Meet, WebEx and OVEE platforms. Develop and manage email campaigns, landing pages, tools and graphics for online fundraising activities.
