About the Role

Oversees all operating solicitations to individuals including devising a comprehensive donor program that consistently promotes prospect identification, cultivation, stewardship, and recognition of individual donors.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversees the department’s daily progression of donor potential, interaction and  prospect results
  • Plans, implements and manages effective retention and stewardship strategies that will cultivate increased giving from current donors 
  • Manages the research and identification for potential new donors
  • Creates, manages, and oversees gift officers’ annual donor roadmaps
  • Supervises donor events and collaborates with gift officers the invitee lists
  • Monitors monthly renewal system, and weekly acknowledgments
  • Prepares special letters from President and Board Chair to donors
  • Oversees planned giving officer and marketing plan for future gifts
  • Develops and controls department budget
  • Tracks daily revenue to ensure monthly and fiscal year goals are being achieved
  • Maintains a regular and predictable attendance
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Education: A bachelor’s degree in a related discipline or the equivalent knowledge or training and experience. 

Experience: Five or more years of experience with individual and major gifts fundraising and planned giving in a mid-size non-profit.  In addition to five years of front line fundraising experience, this position also requires a minimum of five years directly managing staff.

Technical Skills: Must be proficient operating various software programs, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, as well as specific databases, like Team Approach.
