The Opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity to lead the team at Pittsburgh Community Broadcasting responsible for generating sponsorship revenue from local businesses! As Director of Sponsorship Sales, your work will play an essential role in fulfilling the missions of 90.5 WESA, 91.3 WYEP, and Pittsburgh Community Broadcasting as a whole. You will also help local businesses strengthen their relationships with their customers and our community.

In this position, you will oversee a solid sales program with strong growth potential across radio, digital, and event platforms. You will have the chance to expand your staff while working with three experienced account executives. And you will be a part of the Audiences and Revenue leadership team, which includes marketing, membership, major giving, and institutional support, giving you the opportunity be involved beyond your own department.

We operate two local public radio stations and a local newsroom that serves the community across radio, digital and event platforms. 90.5 WESA is Pittsburgh’s NPR News Station and WESA News is an award winning, dynamic and ambitious newsroom serving southwestern Pennsylvania over-the-air, online and through our daily newsletter, Inbox Edition. 91.3 WYEP is one of the most highly regarded non-commercial Triple-A music stations in the country and has been a cultural institution in Pittsburgh for almost 50 years.  With a combined weekly listenership of more than 153,000 people and more than 60,000 social media followers, this is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced media sales executive to help PCBC continue to grow.

What’s it like working at PCBC?

We place a high priority on employee safety and well-being; given the current COVID-19 pandemic, access to the Community Broadcast Center, our building in the heart of Pittsburgh’s historic South Side, is restricted and most operations are remote.

The range for compensation is a base salary plus bonus opportunities and as a full time, exempt employee you get access to PCBC’s benefits package including our retirement plan (with up to a 6% match!), medical, dental and vision, 3 weeks of vacation, sick time, company holidays and paid parental leave.  We also offer paid parking, which is helpful when we can all get back into the office.
