Overall Job Objectives
Ensures compliance and adherence to terms and conditions of grants and is responsible for managing and maintaining a comprehensive, high-level stewardship and donor relations system. In addition, this person will interact daily with WETAs foundation and government funders and cross-departmental WETA staff. The selected candidate will also coordinate details of on-going foundation/government activities and support the overall fundraising function of the Foundation & Government Development Department. Reports to Vice President, Foundation & Government Development.
Principal Responsibilities
- Maintain a comprehensive schedule of grant reporting and proposal renewal deadlines for National Productions, NewsHour Productions, and some funders of The Better Angels Society.
- Manage grant agreement approval process, including logging agreements, securing approval of terms from program, finance and legal departments, and ensuring agreement is returned to donor promptly.
- Compile grant reports, submitting draft to VP or other FGD frontline fundraiser, for review.
- Ensure style, accuracy and timely submission of all reports.Create project grid for each national production, listing FGD funders, grant period, and key deliverables.
- Send new grant email notification to appropriate internal contacts, listing grant period, reporting dates and key deliverables.
- Assist frontline fundraisers with upload of electronic grant submissions and reports to federal agencies (grants.gov, Fastlane, eGMS, ERA Commons, etc.).
- Prepare correspondence for foundation and government funders, including any requests for extension of grant periods; as well as awards, rebroadcasts, and other news of importance.
- Work with VP on funding credits for national projects.
- Participate in special projects and perform other duties assigned.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of philanthropic giving and grant compliance.
- Ability to interact and work effectively with a wide variety of people, to include WETA project staff and outside producers and other contacts, using diplomacy, tact and discretion.
- Ability to establish and maintain rapport with people at all professional levels.
- Excellent organizational, project planning and time management skills with careful attention to detail.
- Excellent oral and written skills.Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment, in an atmosphere of multiple projects, shifting priorities, and deadline pressures.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and analytically, handle complex, detail-oriented work, and exercise discretion, tact and good judgment.
- Strong understanding and application of computer technology to efficiently accomplish work, using Microsoft Office programs, email, Internet, and database management software.
- Availability and ability to work irregular work hours as needed.
Education and Experience
- College degree in liberal arts, communications, finance, or accounting.
- Minimum five years of non-profit experience, including grants management.
- Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
