The Opportunity

We’re looking to hire an Information Security Administrator to help us continue to enhance technological security here at OPB. The day-to-day will involve reviewing security posture and responding to notifications for security incidents. You’ll lend your expertise in security and risk assessment to provide valuable insight when vetting perspective partnerships and vendors. Interfacing with stakeholders across the organization such as our legal department, content department, and other administrative staff will also be an integral function of this role. You’ll be part of a robust technology team that includes another Information Security Administrator, network administrators, and systems administrators. This position will be hybrid position working on-site 1-2 days per week.

Through your work planning and implementing system improvements and industry best practices you’ll ultimately support OPB’s mission by ensuring that content creators at OPB can create and distribute content in a way that is safe and secure. Furthermore, you will be part of something greater, a dedicated group of IT professionals at media organizations who are helping the entire industry evolve towards placing security at the forefront.

 

Position Details

The Information Security Administrator is responsible for the implementation of industry security best practices to protect data/assets. These enterprise solutions include, but are not limited to, data centers, data/voice/wireless networks, storage, virtualization, servers, database, applications, disaster recovery, business continuity, and information security. The Information Security Administrator will perform the daily operation and execution of security-related tools, processes and controls related to cyber defense initiatives and will help coordinate and drive remediation of identified risks and control deficiencies.

 

Responsibilities

80% – Data Security

  • Resolving any data security incidents
  • Stay current with emerging security alerts and issues
  • Design, plan and implement strategies to support the core infrastructure in the contingency environment and to ensure business continuity in the event of a major business interruption or disaster
  • Perform risk assessments and facilitate tests of data processing systems to maintain proper functioning of data processing activities and security measures
  • Ensure that OPB system security controls, policies and procedures are examined, measured, and validated against third party standards
  • Alert OPB Technology Management Team of any risks/vulnerabilities to systems and/or infrastructure
  • Continually review system logs and monitoring tools for potential incidents
  • Support IT System Security projects, coordinate efforts with team members, maintain proper communication to management as well as contribute to the overall success of the project through completion
  • Provide training to IT and Engineering staff (including system, virtualization, and database administrators) and promote security best practices

10% – Server and Network Security Administration

  • Daily or periodic system administration tasks
  • Respond to system problems and performance issues
  • Monitor and report on system performance and availability as related to Security

10% – Assist with IT’s help desk requests and collaborate with IT on systems maintenance or other projects

 

Working Conditions

Typical office environment. Position may require working non-traditional hours including evenings, weekends and holidays to trouble-shoot or solve critical problems. May need to be to be available to respond to technical and production emergencies both locally and at remote offices.

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years Information Technology experience and a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or a related field, or equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities for this position.
  • Certification: Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).
  • Experience in analyzing risk of existing and new system architectures and their security policies.
  • Experience documenting risks and proposing risk treatment plans for information systems.
  • Experience in evaluating operating practices and documenting to confirm if controls and security measures are adequate.
  • Experience proposing updates to technical control standards supporting various platforms, systems, and environments.
  • Experience conducting vulnerability testing.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field.
  • Certification: GIAC Certified Forensic Analyst (GCFA).
  • Certification: Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE).
  • Certification: Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA).
  • Certification: CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner (CASP).
  • Knowledge of Symantec Suite and Microsoft PKI.
  • Familiarity with the IT requirements of broadcast radio or television.

 

Additional Information

  • This position reports to Director, Information Technology and is benefits eligible.
  • The probable hiring range for this exempt position is between $87,500 and $97,500 annually, depending on qualifications.
  • For the safety of our employees, the contractors/vendors we work with, and the public we serve, OPB has a mandatory COVID vaccination policy and all employees are required to show proof of vaccination.
  • This position has access to highly sensitive data and therefore must pass a background check.
