Position Details
The IT Director leads the team that ensures that OPB’s IT capabilities are innovative and solution oriented, meeting our current and future needs with a focus on solving business challenges and ensuring users are supported. This person manages a diverse team that designs, configures, and maintains OPB’s internal information systems infrastructure, including enterprise systems, user application software, database management, networking hardware and software, servers and workstations, and email and internet communications. This position evaluates OPB’s IT needs, vets solution options, and procures the necessary hardware, software, and services to enable efficient operation in a 24/7 media creation and distribution environment. The IT Director acts as the lead for OPB’s data and cybersecurity efforts. This person is responsible for developing internal operations, as well as budgeting and capacity planning.

Supervises
• Directly manages the IT Manager, and the network and security teams. Responsible for indirectly managing the IT system administrators.
• Provides direction, approves work; manages employee performance; recommends hiring; hires; recommends salary adjustments; and prepares and signs performance reviews.

Responsibilities
75% – Oversee IT department
• Define and execute IT strategy to support OPB’s business goals while maintaining a robust security posture. Develop and delegate objectives and tactics to meet those goals.
• Define and implement IT policies and procedures, adhering to industry best practices.
• Direct various IT projects and programs, including preventative maintenance, storage, and resource management while creating and communicating project timelines.
• Inform and manage IT’s capital and operating budgets.
• Lead team that fosters an environment of belonging where diverse backgrounds, experiences, ideas and work styles are valued. Support the growth and development of team members offering coaching, recognition, and feedback to optimize performance and employee engagement. Ensure team understands their work priorities, responsibilities and contributions and how they align with department goals, organizational strategies and mission.
• Lead OPB data and cyber security efforts including ongoing proactive deterrence and incident resolution.
• Manage procurement of equipment and services.
• Gather data to be used in reports and as indicators to inform decision making.
• Develop and manage operational budget
• Build and maintain relationships with peers in content and all other staff at OPB to ensure OPB goals are being met, particularly through technology.
• Serve as a part of the Technology leadership team
25% – Planning and partnership
• Function as a resource and liaison between IT and other departments.
• Research new technologies and how to leverage their capabilities to best serve OPB.
• Recommend, plan and design technical and equipment changes as appropriate to maintain OPB’s technical excellence.
• Actively participate in skills enhancement opportunities to stay up to date with the latest technology and industry best practices.

Working Conditions
Working conditions are generally within a typical office environment. Demands upon the position may require working non-traditional hours including evenings, weekends and holidays to trouble shoot or solve critical problems. May need to be to be on-call to respond to technical and operational emergencies.

Minimum Qualifications
• Minimum of five years relevant experience in a technology leadership role.
• Experience implementing best industry standards for an enterprise-level environment to ensure smooth and reliable business operations.
• Experience with data security/cybersecurity implementation and maintenance
• Ability to foresee possible issues and troubleshoot them proactively
• Experience developing and maintaining disaster recovery, business continuity plan and change management utilizing IT resources.
• Demonstrated experience effectively managing complex projects, budgets, setting and accomplishing goals while managing dynamic priorities.
• Demonstrated experience using technology to solve business challenges.
• Demonstrated skill and successful experience in organizational change and transition management, including creating efficiencies, and implementing new and emerging technologies, including new/revised work processes.
• Strong supervisory, management and interpersonal skills, including leading and fostering a sense of belonging, guiding team through change and supporting the growth and development of employee(s).
• Excellent written and oral communication skills including ability to tailor messaging to different audiences and stakeholders.
• Ability to foster a strategic mindset amongst the team with the ability to drive both strategic and tactical efforts as necessary.
• Demonstrated experience working with diverse teams and fostering an environment where all people are treated equitably and all ideas are considered.
• Enthusiasm for the mission of OPB.

Preferred Qualifications
• Evidence of continuing education, such as certifications.
• Experience with radio and television operations and/or content creation.
• Experience with PCI compliance – data security and cyber security.
• Experience with Office 365, its functionality and deployment of its various services.
• Experience managing Adobe Creative Cloud accounts.

Additional Information
• This position reports to Senior Director of Technology, is exempt and benefits eligible.
• The probable hiring range for this exempt position is between $105,000 and $115,000 annually, depending on qualifications.
• This position has access to highly sensitive data and therefore must pass a background check.
