Description

The Mesquite Independent School District is seeking qualified candidates for the position of KEOM Station Manager. The appointee will report directly to the Chief Information Officer and will be responsible for managing the KEOM-FM radio station in a way that prepares students for employment in the field of communications, broadcasting and digital media and effectively serve the public interest by providing pertinent school, community, and general interest information. The appointee will also be responsible for a smooth, efficient operation consistent with broadcast standards that are in the best interests of students, the district, and the community.

 

Qualifications:  Valid Teaching Certificate; Master’s degree (preferred); Administrator Certificate (preferred); advanced training or experience in Radio/TV broadcasting

 

Preference will be given to applicants who:

 

  • possess knowledge of or demonstrate aptitude for computer and technical digital broadcast systems
  • have an understanding of technology as it relates to digital broadcast systems and broadcast engineering relevant to KEOM’s systems
  • possess knowledge of FCC broadcast regulations, talents, or training in on-air broadcast skills and/or radio production skills
  • can plan, develop, and implement effective broadcast programs that include the best use of research findings, time, staff, advanced technologies, community resources, and financial means to enhance efforts for effective communication through KEOM-FM
  • demonstrate highly effective organizational and consensus building skills
  • exhibits effective communication, (verbal and written) public relations and interpersonal skills

Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the administration may find appropriate and acceptable.

 

Salary:  Pay Range:  Administrative 2: $68,500 – $100,800; 226 days

 

Employment begins:  July 1, 2022
