About the Role

The position holder oversees and coordinates all major gifts fundraising, manages planned giving, and participates with the development team in coordinating direct mail appeals.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Manage relationships with donors.

Maintain responsibility for your portfolio outreach such as, but not limited to, sending customized proposals, solicitation letters, thank-you letters, phone calls, event invitations, meetings (in person and virtual), and additional correspondence.

Qualify prospects as an ongoing part of the portfolio.

Works collaboratively with the Director of Donor Relations, VP Institutional Advancement and other Advancement staff to cultivate and solicit donors.

Monitor all prospect contacts to ensure positive and purposeful prospect and donor relations.

Recommend and assist with programming.

Support the Director of Donor Relations in major gifts solicitations.

Attend WHYY events to meet and greet with donors.

Maintain a regular and predictable attendance.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Education: A Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline or the equivalent combination of training and experience.

Experience: This position requires four to six years’ experience of successful fundraising.

Software/ Technical Skills: Proficient use of Microsoft Office software. Skilled with computers, takes advantage of new technology, and learns new tools. Knowledge of Team Approach software is a plus.
