Position Overview
This position is responsible for developing and executing effective strategies for soliciting annual gift prospects and building, managing, and advancing the Boise State Public Radio (BSPR) Broadcast Society giving program, an annual major-giving group; identifies, cultivates, solicits, and stewards relationships with station’s major donors (includes individuals, foundations, and companies) with the goal of raising large gifts and funding that leads to transformational advancements; maintains a calendar of foundation prospects and makes successful applications for grant funding; interfaces with colleagues in the University Advancement (UA) division, operating in accordance with all UA policies and procedures with respect to donor/prospect management; likewise, represents BSPR and the station’s mission and financial interests.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Identifies, cultivates, solicits and stewards those members with a capacity and affinity to support the station at a higher level, coordinating with UA colleagues when necessary.
- Creates all communication pieces pertaining to major gifts.
- Incorporates the submission of grant proposals to foundations within the state/region/nation.
- Devises and implements all aspects of the Broadcast Society to achieve annual leadership giving goals, including directing communication and developing station events that engage mid-level and major donors.
- Implements an annual strategic development plan and executes to goal.
- Attends regular prospect coordination meetings with Boise State University Advancement colleagues.
Minimum eligibility requirements include a Bachelors degree and 2 years experience in a similar field. Preferred qualifications include a Masters degree, 3-5 years experience, and University fundraising experience.
