Iowa Public Radio is looking for a Major Gifts Officer to join our team in the Iowa City office. The Major Gifts Officer will play a critical role in the expansion of Iowa Public Radio’s fundraising efforts by focusing on individual gifts at major giving levels. The Major Gifts Officer is responsible for identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of a portfolio of prospective and current donors. The Major Gifts Officer is responsible for closing gifts of $5K and above. The Major Gifts Officer will work closely with the Development Director, Executive Director, Board members, other development staff and volunteers to achieve the organization’s fundraising goals. Travel within the state of Iowa is required.

ANTICIPATED HIRING RANGE:
• $41,295 – $61,943

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor’s degree;
• 3-5 years of nonprofit experience managing fundraising portfolios with demonstrated success in closing gifts of $5k and above; and
• Superior interpersonal skills and ability to communicate professionally in both oral and written form with volunteers, colleagues, board members and donors.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Advanced degree in related field or nonprofit certification;
• 5 years or more of nonprofit experience managing fundraising portfolios; and
• Ability to work with high-level decision makers and donors.
