Description
KUER seeks a creative fundraising professional and team-oriented leader to help the station continue to grow its successful membership program. The ideal candidate has 3-5 years of experience managing an annual fund or membership programs that includes strategic vision, direct mail, digital fundraising, email marketing and on-air pledge drives to ensure robust and sustainable growth. Key priorities include developing effective long-term strategies for acquisition, retention and stewardship activities.
• Extensive donor software database experience, including managing software upgrades, PCI Compliance concerns, while maintaining data integrity.
• Partner with the Development Director to create annual membership strategy focused on donor experience and revenue generation.
• Set and achieve revenue goals for membership, assist in stewardship of all donors under $1,000, and collaborating with DOD and MOMG to build the pipeline of major donors.
• Ability to effectively plan, research, create, execute, analyze and report on membership development programs
• Work with content and news departments on fund drive production needs. Work together with development team to implement and achieve sound fund drive campaigns, including evaluation of outcomes.
• Oversee communication and stewardship activities including digital, web, print and event communication for sustainers and individual donors.
• In close collaboration with the marketing department, provide input to marketing materials (web, on-air, printed materials, etc.), and strategies for individual campaigns.
• May work with community partners, Community Advisory Board or others to foster relationships, advance the stations objectives, or collaborate on projects.
• 2+ years of managing employees and volunteers
• Creating and managing department budget and project budgets
• Act as a station representative within the community.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work effectively as a member of a team.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and competing deadlines with an attention to accuracy
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, related field, or equivalency; three years of fund-raising experience which includes direct solicitation of contributions, volunteer leadership support, written and verbal presentations, and strategy and market development are required. Demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills required. Experience in grant or proposal writing and a background working with local print and electronic media is preferred. Demonstrated negotiating skills are also preferred.
