ORGANIZATIONAL SUMMARY:

WUSF Public Media is a comprehensive public media organization that operates an NPR news and jazz radio station and an all-classical music radio station, and provides digital content online, through newsletters, podcasts and social media and serves a weekly audience of greater than 350,000. It is a department of the University of South Florida, with 70 employees and a budget of $12 million and provides internships to students. WUSF Public Media’s main studios are on the USF Tampa campus, with a broadcast and music performance studio on the USFSM campus and an office and news production studio on the USFSP campus.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsibilities include assisting the membership team with designated duties, such as: acknowledgment letters and pledge billing; premium coordination, ordering and reporting;

customer service, billing and receiving, and assisting with on air membership campaigns. The Membership department will depend on this person to make recommendations for process improvements to improve efficiency and donor satisfaction. Other duties will include support and planning for on-air membership drives and member cultivation events and research related to members.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Performs specific operational duties following a weekly schedule. Duties include running thank you letters, monthly reminders, pledge bills, premium reports, coordinating and ordering premiums with third party vendors, approving invoices, and being the main contact for membership calls/customer service. Crossed trained on all membership activities.

Donor relations-interaction with members via email, phone and letters.

Pledge Drives: Assists Membership Director with pledge drives. Will covers shifts during the pledge drives, help with scheduling meetings, planning and limited writing. Coordinates with other station personnel where applicable.

Performs other duties as assigned.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

MINIMUM:

This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent and four years of clerical experience, at least one of which must be directly related to development or community relations. College coursework may substitute for the required experience on a year for year basis.

PREFERRED:

Undergrad and three years of experience in a nonprofit or membership-related organization. Need a person that is self directed, and a self starter.

This position is subject to a Level # 1 criminal background check.
