APMG’s primary operating divisions Minnesota Public Radio, Southern California Public Radio and American Public Media offer multi-regional FM broadcast channels, website, mobile and social media channels, live events, national content creation and distribution. Together, these divisions operate 49 public radio stations and 42 translators serving regional audiences in eight states from Minnesota, Michigan and the Upper Midwest to Idaho and California; distribute a portfolio of more than twenty national programs reaching nearly 20MM listeners weekly through 1,000 radio stations; serve rapidly growing audiences on digital, social and mobile platforms; and produce an increasing and diverse array of podcasts featuring the best in food, culture, entertainment, mental health, water, early brain development, business and investigative journalism.
Your Role:
As the Mid-Level Giving Program Manager, you support the Mid-Level Giving Program at Minnesota Public Radio, a collaborative effort between Membership and Philanthropic Development teams to grow giving ($600 to $9,999) from the most generous and engaged donors. Your role is embedded in the Membership team and is responsible for the execution, oversight, and evaluation of multiple fundraising channels including on-air, direct, and digital to solicit gifts of $600 to $2,499 for the Amplifier and Leadership Circle Partner ($1,200-$2,499) levels to support MPR News, The Current, and YourClassical MPR.
This role collaborates with:
- The Membership team to produce solicitations in multiple channels for Amplifiers and Leadership Circle Partners as a part of the Membership annual plan. This includes work on email copy, direct mail copy, promotional message copy, scripting, member drives, and events. This includes writing copy specifically for the Amplifier and Leadership Circle Partner levels, which may or may not be separate from other Membership solicitations.
- A team of mid-level giving officers, who do direct outreach to Leadership Circle Partners. This role will support responsive member support
- The Development Communications team, who manage and execute stewardship efforts to the Leadership Circle (Partners, Champions, and Investors).
This role provides the highest level of service to Amplifiers and Leadership Circle Partners to retain, upgrade, and steward members. The Mid-Level Giving Program Manager supports meeting or exceeding assigned member and revenue goals.
Compensation Range: $59,018 – $88,527. Exact salary determined by experience and education related to the role, organizational compensation structure and internal equity.

Position Responsibility:
- Execute mid-level fundraising strategy for Amplifiers and Leadership Circle Partners.
- With the Regional Membership Program Manager, plan, review, edit direct mail and telemarketing campaigns that include Amplifier and Leadership Circle Partner level members.
- Carry out digital fundraising plans in partnership with the Digital Fundraising Manager including writing and collecting email, social media, and paid media content.
- Support various events for acquisition and stewardship at all levels.
- Participate in and support member drives and other on-air campaigns by pitch producing, script writing for mid-level messages, promotional message writing, and any other duties related to these efforts.

Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
- 2+ years’ experience in fundraising.
- Demonstrated track record of success in supporting Membership or Annual giving programs both in traditional and emerging platforms.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
- Strong customer-service skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage large-scale deadline dependent projects.
- Outstanding written and verbal communications skills; ability to produce extensive written documents including fundraising scripts, emails, goal tracking, analytics and budgets.
- Well-developed collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams.
- Able to function productively in a fast-paced high-pressure environment, work independently and accept direction. High energy, positive attitude, and a demonstrated ability to deliver results on-time and on-budget.
- Must have the desire and ability to successfully work as a part of a team, contributing to the overall quality of the Membership department. Strong attention to detail.
- Must be open to working evenings and weekends as needed (specifically during member drive campaigns, which happen three times per year).
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Demonstrated ability to, and prior success in executing direct mail, telemarketing, e-mail, and on-air member drives.
- Experience with a mid-level giving program.
