Position Overview
The purpose of this position is two-fold: first, to research, report and produce high quality radio features to cover news throughout Idaho for use by Boise State Public Radio. Second, the position will report to BSPR News Director as well as the RJC Managing Editor, and content will be shared across the listening region of all stations involved with the Mountain West Collaborative.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Research, report, and produce long form features, conduct in-studio interviews and provide news stories for local newscasts in the form of wraps, voicers, superspots and cut and copy material. Expectations of the position include: working at efficient pace, on-par with industry standards; creating quality radio and web content on-par with NPR member station standards, with focus on proper grammar, punctuation, capitalization, and style; consistently meeting output goals and quotas set by regional journalism collaborative (RJC) managing editor, RJC executive committee, and BSPR news director; actively participating in regional discussions, newsroom discussions and contributing story ideas and suggestions; displaying the ability to multi-task and move nimbly from task to task; completing tasks within a reasonable amount of time; displaying willingness to adapt to present day techniques, processes, etc.; meeting other goals set by news director and regional journalism collaborative.
- Fill in as on-air host as needed.
- Participate in Boise State Radio’s on-air fundraising efforts.
- Serve on behalf of Boise State Public Radio as a spokesperson and or representative at assigned station events or other community-related forums.
Minimum Qualification (Including Certificates and Licenses)
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent plus 5-7 years of professional level experience in similar work.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in a specific field (Journalism, Political Science, History, English, or Communications).
- Experience in public radio.
Salary commensurate with experience.
