KMUW seeks an enterprise News Reporter to cover Energy & Environment News stories, in Wichita and Kansas. KMUW seeks always to report news with integrity, fairness, accuracy and civility. This position will tell stories through the diversity of voices that make up all of Wichita and Kansas by generating content for KMUW in the greater Wichita area, as well as for the Kansas collaborative of public radio stations.

Summary of responsibilities: Produce feature-length Energy & Environment news reports, newscast spots and other news programming as assigned for broadcast and social media for KMUW and the Kansas News Service. Provide specific energy and environment beat coverage for Wichita and Kansas through the collaborative statewide public radio initiative funded in part by the Corporation for Public Broadcasting. Participate in news planning meetings, generation of story ideas and evaluation of broadcast and online content. Collaborate with the Engagement team on news initiatives and community ascertainment. Assist station staff with community outreach events and other initiatives.

Minimum experience: Successful experience producing spot news, complex audio news features and content for online distribution. Successful experience using broadcast, production and field recording equipment. Successful experience using current audio editing software, such as Adobe Audition. Excellent computer skills including AP Newsdesk (or similar software) and content management systems.
