The Producer/Videographer/Editor researches, organizes, gathers information, writes and creates both long form and short story/program content using a palette of audio/video/computer equipment for delivery to a variety of distribution platforms. Consistently meets deadlines as well as ethical, technical legal and aesthetic standards. Ability to work well as part of a team with University clients and staff is essential.
Research, write, produce, shoot, and edit content for prompt turnaround publishing to WUCF’s multimedia platforms. Must have a “story first” orientation.
Integrate images, audio, video, links to other resources and other content as appropriate into WUCF productions, develop audiences using social media, and demonstrate a thorough understanding of Web and social media best practices.
Effectively engage diverse perspectives and experiences in all facets of production and identify meaningful, impactful stories that represent the diverse community WUCF serves in ways that are relevant to the audience.
Demonstrate sound editorial judgment, hold the highest ethical standards, have familiarity with broadcast and copyright law, and have an understanding of the role of public media in the 21st century.
Ability to consistently meet rigorous production, broadcast and social media deadlines while working accurately and efficiently with strict attention to detail.
Proven professional experience and advanced proficiency with digital cinema, EFP and small-format cameras along with lighting, shot composition, single and multi-camera directing in studio and on location pre-recorded or live, and expertise with Adobe Creative Cloud programs including Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects and Premiere. Experience with Avid Media Composer, Blackmagic Davinci Resolve, and Panasonic Varicam with Zeiss Prime lenses a plus. Live multi-camera experiece in the field or studio helpful. Ross Studio Production Suite (Xpression, Carbonite, Inception) experience also a plus.
Conduct live or recorded on-camera interviews.
Possess a high level of motivation with a strong belief in creative ideas plus the skills and confidence to express them and be willing and able to work unscheduled hours, which may include evenings and weekends.
Participate in marketing activities, community engagement projects and other audience interactions as assigned on behalf of WUCF, including interacting with audiences on social media platforms.
Supervises and mentors Production department intern(s) and Federal Work Study employees.
