The Opportunity
We have a new and unique opportunity! We’re looking for a Production and Media Asset Coordinator to join our Production Resources team. In this position you’ll handle media assets, the ideal candidate will have technical experience handling digital media. A keen eye for detail, anticipating needs, and a willingness to problem solve are key for this position. Prior field production experience is preferred to help better understand context of the work, but not required, as the work will be centered more around production planning and asset management than going out in the field. As a coordinator on our Resource Production team, you’ll have influence in building processes that can help inform how OPB manages handling of media and will create efficiencies in how OPB media is handled.

You’ll be part of the media production community in Oregon. This is a great opportunity for someone who desires to work in pre-production. Position Details
The Production & Media Asset Coordinator is a part of the collaborative Production Resources team that’s responsible for managing production resources including people, media production facilities, schedules, workflows and equipment. The coordinator is an effective technical problem solver, adapts to the constant change of priorities and proactively anticipates the needs and demands related to managing production resources. The Coordinator is responsible for organizing video and digital assets from the field and outside sources ahead of ingest to a media asset management system, provides support for crew filming in studio and on location, tracks equipment and maintains equipment, provides support for the production crew and manager.

Responsibilities
45% – Production Asset Management
• Facilitate ingest of field acquired assets through a MAM system into a high-performance shared storage system
• Facilitate file-management and ingest workflow of all production assets from field crew.
• Troubleshoot codec/transcode issues.
• Communicates and collaborates closely with producers, videographers and editors in preparation of media assets before production.
• Ensure that all assets adhere to technical specifications and follow mandated file naming conventions.
• Retrieve, assemble and deliver existing media/assets from the production platform to producers, editors and other internal clients
• Assist in asset workflow management

35% – Production
• Assist production staff in preparation of field production related to camera, grip and data management
• Assist in scheduling and use of the field equipment, multimedia studio spaces and edit suites.
• Prepare the deployment of gear.

20% – Equipment Management
• Track on-site and cloud storage asset expiration.
• Assist with maintenance/repair of field production equipment and accessories.
• Assist with media inventory purchases and tracking.

Working Conditions
General office, studio or other indoor location. Extended periods of using a computer. Shifts may vary and could require early morning or late-night work times. Some moving of equipment (up to 40 lbs.) may be required and may include delicate equipment. Includes occasional travel to pick up and drop off equipment.

Minimum Qualifications
• 2 years work experience in field, studio and postproduction or equivalent broadcast/visual production experience.
• 1 year experience using Premiere and other related Adobe Creative Suite apps
• Understanding and knowledge of video production workflows, digital media, including transcoding video, codecs, aspect ratios, audio formats, compression technologies.
• Technical knowledge of video production equipment general maintenance and use, including cameras, field audio acquisition and digital media workflows.
• Experience with high volume digital asset transcode and management.
• Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite and other business applications
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to prioritize, multi-task and troubleshoot.
• Ability to manage time and balance priorities amid the pressures of busy, deadline-driven production.
• Enthusiasm for the mission of Oregon Public Broadcasting.

Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with production scheduling software (we use farmerswife).
• Experience with media asset management systems (we use Dalet Galaxy).
• Experience troubleshooting basic video production and computer equipment.

Additional Information
• This position reports to the Production Resource Manager and is benefits eligible.
• The probable hiring range for this nonexempt position is between $21.50 and $26.50 hourly (or the hourly equivalent of $44,720 to $55,120 annually, depending on qualifications.

• This position requires a valid driver’s license and will require consent to OPB conducting a driving record check. Employees will not be allowed to use a company or personal vehicle for work purposes without completion and satisfactory results of this check.
