JOB SUMMARY

KJZZ/KBACH is currently hiring a Traffic Specialist to support the day-to-day operations of KJZZ/KBACH’s Traffic Department. This position will coordinate aspects of production; execution and reporting to ensure sponsorship spots and promotional messaging are placed correctly and run smoothly, in support of revenue and marketing goals. The ideal candidate for this position is a flexible, detail-oriented individual who is quick to learn new systems and processes.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ability to work with a great deal of autonomy while effectively collaborating with and providing service to a variety of teams and departments within the Division of Public Service
  • Previous knowledge and proficiency with Marketron, Wide Orbit Traffic, or related Traffic software management systems
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, deadline, and detail-oriented environment
  • Solutions-oriented and capable of troubleshooting technical issues
  • Comfortable learning/mastering new software programs and being an “in-house expert”
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Prefer past work experience in public media, broadcast operations, or ad agency
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Traffic Operations 75%

The Traffic Specialist will provide the day-to-day operations of the trafficking department, coordinating the scheduling of underwriting and promotional materials for broadcast.

Broadcast and Digital Daily Messaging Operations

  • Works as a liaison between the sales team and master control
  • Produces broadcast program logs to be sent to the master control, monitors log use for accuracy, and prepares log documentation (including underwriting reports)
  • Manages weekly broadcast schedules, including responding to any programming changes, preemptions or last-minute revisions
  • Inputs underwriting, marketing, and fundraising schedules into the traffic system, coding them to the proper accounts

Copy Continuity Coordination

  • Maintains copy deadlines for underwriting and promotional messaging campaigns and sends missing copy/creative reports to the Sales team.
  • Inputs copy and assigns cart #’s, ensuring that spots are recorded by on-air talent and ready to air.

 

Inventory Reporting

  • Generate inventory reports
  • Communication with Master Control and the Sales Team on discrepancies with scheduled spots and forecasting oversold weeks.
  • Report any spots (underwriting or promotional) that were preempted or written as a discrepancy
  • If necessary, provide options, if available, for “Make Goods” for paid campaigns that need rescheduling

Reporting and Invoicing 25%

  • Reconciles and posts broadcast days for each billing cycle to ensure they are ready to be invoiced
  • Prepare and send invoices to underwriting clients (electronically and via mail)
  • Monitors, tracks, and processes all underwriting account receivables
  • Generates underwriting financial reports
