KUOW has an exciting opportunity for a Project Manager, Administrative Operations & Culture to lead and manage department projects using facilitation, communication, and organizational skills to assist in the execution of strategic initiatives and goals; Work closely with President’s office on improving workplace culture and business operations; Build positive community relations and provide excellent customer service internally and externally; help to make a positive impact in the communities we serve.
BASIC FUNCTION
Work closely with the Director of Administrative Operations & Culture (“AOC”) and the President/GM Team to manage the implementation of strategic initiatives to improve organizational effectiveness and workplace culture in accordance with the station values. Tasks include managing projects, budgets and timelines in support of the organization-wide processes and communications on racial equity and DEI projects; conducting research and collaborating with internal and external partners to help the Administrative Operations/President’s Office achieve its priorities; and light administrative support for the President/GM and Director of Administrative Operations & Culture.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Administrative Operations 55%
• In conjunction with the Director of Administrative Operations & Culture, develop the implementation project plan and conduct kick-off meetings with internal stakeholders, vendors and contractors for admin operations programs and projects.
• Outline the scope, schedule, and budget of projects, communicate each party’s responsibilities and commitment to the scope of work.
• Conduct planning sessions with key stakeholders to create a series of documented management plans that specify the project plan and scope.
• Schedule resources, assign responsibilities, and monitor progress to ensure compliance with the project plan, immediately notifying affected parties of any schedule changes.
• This position will be responsible for leading initiatives administrative determined are priorities for the KUOW. This will help us more effectively manage our staff and DEI training the heling us fulfill our mission and continue to be a self-sustaining unit of the University of Washington
• for the team cross-functional or multi-team efforts in defining key milestones for a project, while following up with various stakeholders to ensure action items are tracked and working towards completion.
• Identify and implement effective techniques to communicate project/program objectives, responsibilities, ideas, feedback, and other appropriate information.
• Assist in developing written processes, procedures, and flowcharts to support department activities.
• Manage all project documents and coordinate documentation revisions and releases; ensure that project documents are archived for later retrieval.
Workplace Culture and Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion 40%
• Assist in the research, execution and implementation of activities that support the station’s workplace cultural goals including project facilitation of equity & inclusion programs and initiatives.
• Assist the AOC Director with the preparation of key management communications such as project presentations, status reports, budget reports, etc. to support racial equity & DEI initiatives.
• Manage relationships with stakeholders, including internal and external community and vendors, keeping stakeholders informed of progress and issues to manage expectations on all project requirements and deliverables.
• Lead projects to collect and analyze statistical data on employee engagement surveys, including tracking metrics, generating reports, and assisting in the coordination and communicating the impact of equity standards and goals.
• Work closely with and provide support to the AOC Director and coordinate with the Racial Equity Consultants and Team (RET) to help ensure action items are tracked and working towards completion.
• Participate in planning sessions as necessary to assist in determining project approach and overall timelines associated with the RET project requirements.
• Occasionally attend RE/DEI conferences and forums.
Project manage other initiatives and perform other duties as assigned 5%
SUPERVISION
• Position reports to the Director of Administrative Operations & Culture.
Requirements include:
• A bachelor’s degree and at least two years of experience in project or event management . Equivalent combination of comparable knowledge and skills may substitute for education and/or experience.
• General computer proficiency, including ability to use Microsoft office products (Excel, Word, and Outlook)
Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.
