Based in Sonoma County, Northern California Public Media (NorCal) serves the San Francisco region through two public television stations, KRCB and KPJK, and one public radio station, KRCB FM. As one of the few community-owned and operated media entities serving the region, NorCal offers PBS, NPR and Independent Public Broadcasting programming.

NorCal currently seeks a highly organized, reliable, and professional Receptionist/Administrative Aide to serve as the first point of contact for our staff and guests. The Receptionist/Administrative Aide will answer inquiries, provide information to the general public, visitors, and other interested parties, and perform routine front office and administrative functions. Must live in or near Sonoma County.

Key Responsibilities:
• Responsible for daily whiteboard update
• Maintain office and meeting room calendars
• Schedule appointments and office guests upon requests
• Answer phones in a professional manner, address viewer and listener questions, and route calls as necessary
• Greet and receive guests with a positive and helpful attitude
• Announce and direct guests to the appropriate staff, or escort guests as necessary
• Maintain workplace security by ensuring people entering the premises are scheduled guests and maintaining visitor logs
• Assist in filing, scanning, and mass mailings
• Sort and distribute mail and prepare outgoing mail
• Maintain postage machine and postage reports
• Receive and prepare shipment of packages via FedEx, UPS, and USPS
• Monitor office inventory and order supplies
• Oversee janitorial services
• Assist other departments with administrative tasks
• Maintain front office appearance and kitchen area
• Perform other duties as assigned

Job Requirements:
• Excellent customer service
• Knowledge of administrative procedures and systems
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Strong organizational skills; able to manage priorities and workflow
• Able to coordinate several projects to a successful completion with little or no supervision
• Responds promptly to shifts in direction, priorities and schedules
• Uses sound judgment and problem resolution skills
• Possess computer skills and proficiency in utilizing MS Office programs (Outlook, Excel, and Word)
• Associate degree or bachelor’s degree preferred
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
• Minimum two years experience

What we offer:
This is a part-time 30-32 hours per week, non-exempt position, at $18 per hour. Benefits offered include medical, dental, vision, 403B, and pro-rated paid vacation and holidays.
