The Opportunity
We’re recruiting a Senior Systems Administrator! OPB’s Systems Administrators are essential to the support and evolution of the infrastructure that supports the entire organization. Whether you’re working on a CRM for our Development team, building a server for TV automation, or integrating a third-party SaaS solution with Active Directory, the work you do in this position is critical to OPB. It builds the foundation that enables the rest of the organization to flourish.
Position Details
The Senior Systems Administrator manages and maintains complex server infrastructure, focusing on designing, troubleshooting, securing, and optimizing performance of OPB’s IT and broadcast infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain server, network, and appliance hardware and software in a 24/7/365 media environment
- Manage a complex and mission critical VMWare environment
- Integrate and manage multiple SaaS and cloud storage platforms
- Monitor server performance, capacity, and resource utilization across all OPB technologies
- Troubleshoot and resolve server-related issues, including hardware failures and software bugs.
- Implement and maintain server security best practices, including patch management and access controls.
- Plan, test, and implement upgrades for information systems
- Continue to develop expertise in new technologies
- Engage with vendors to plan version upgrades and patching as needed
Working Conditions
Work Environment: This position will be hybrid working a minimum of 2 days a week in a typical office environment at OPB, although this can change based on business need.
Schedule: Monday – Friday, typical working hours. Will be required to be available to respond to technical and operational emergencies. Demands upon the position may require working non-traditional hours including evenings, weekends and holidays to troubleshoot or solve critical problems.
Physical Demands: This position will be required to move and install network computing hardware, which may include lifting and moving approximately 30 pounds with a hand cart, crawling on the floor and getting under desks.
Minimum Position Requirements (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Attitudes):
- 5 years work experience designing, building and maintaining IT systems
- 3-5 years of work experience managing VMware environment, including enterprise storage systems
- 3-5 years with backup and recovery software and methodologies
- Demonstrated expertise administering a Microsoft infrastructure
- Proficiency in the following technologies:
- Microsoft Server Operating Systems
- Windows 10 and 11
- Apple Mac OS and iOs
- Active Directory and GPO administration and management
- Microsoft Entra
- Performance monitoring, trending, and optimization
- Proficiency with the system administrative duties, including the enforcement of system security policies/procedures, managing patching of hardware and software
- Proficiency with hardware setup and configuration
- Cloud Technologies Experience (Azure, AWS, GCP)
- Experience writing in shell or scripting languages
- Experience with MDM solutions (SCCM, Intune, Jamf Pro)
- Experience developing, documenting and implementing policies, standards and operating procedures
- Knowledge of ITIL/IT Service Management best practices.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical people in everyday language
- Ability to identify, prioritize and execute tasks to meet critical project deadlines
- Experience providing superior customer service, and interacting with various business units, project stakeholders, and external business partners
- Ability to own and drive IT system projects to successful completion, coordinating efforts with team members and maintaining proper communication with management and stakeholders

Preferred Position Requirements (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Attitudes):
- 2-year degree in Computer Science or the equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities for this position
- Experience with PCI, NIST, and other security guidelines
- Networking Technologies Experience (Routing, SDWAN, TCP/IP, DNS, VPN, Cisco and HP switches, Firewalls)
- Linux System Administration (Ubuntu, RedHat)
- HP and Dell hardware configuration
- Experience with business continuity or disaster recovery strategies
- Experience with ManageEngine ServiceDesk ticketing system
- Collaborative/agile project management techniques
Additional Information
- This position reports to the IT Manager, is unrepresented and is benefits eligible.
- The probable hiring range for this exempt position is between $87,000 – $97,000 depending on qualifications.
