POSITION SUMMARY:

KERA is seeking a full-time Video Producer / Motion Graphics Producer to join our growing Creative Services team. This role is central to modernizing KERA’s visual identity across broadcast, digital, and social platforms, as well as creating original content.

The ideal candidate is a skilled storyteller with expertise in non-fiction editing, motion design, and animation, and can balance creativity with efficiency. This person should be fluent in Adobe Premiere, After Effects, and Audition, with a firm grasp on narrative flow, design, and technical requirements for multiple platforms.

This role will also support field production and, if skilled, bring valuable livestreaming production experience to elevate KERA’s live programming and community events.

This position is classified as FLSA exempt, reports to the Director of Creative Production, and is part of the larger Audience Development team. This role offers opportunities for growth and leadership in a collaborative, creative team.

  • Edit long- and short-form videos in Adobe Premiere, including broadcast episodes, digital-first stories, and social shorts.
  • Create motion graphics and animations in After Effects to modernize KERA’s visual identity, including lower thirds, transitions, and animated explainers.
  • Design and edit graphics packages for broadcast, streaming, and social media.
  • Reformat video content for multiple platforms (broadcast, web, vertical/social).
  • Handle color correction and audio cleanup to meet broadcast and digital delivery standards.
  • Organize and maintain project files, assets, and media libraries.
  • Tell compelling local, statewide, and national stories through editing and motion design.
  • Serve occasionally as a backup field shooter and support livestream productions (bonus).
  • Collaborate with producers, designers, and leadership to elevate the KERA brand across platforms.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:

  • Excellent video editing skills with Adobe Premiere.
  • Strong proficiency in After Effects and motion graphics/animation.
  • Love of storytelling and ability to adapt content for different audiences.
  • Strong design eye and ability to modernize brand visuals.
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Collaboration skills and ability to absorb feedback.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and efficiency.
  • Excellent time management skills.

 

 

BONUS IF YOU BRING:

  • Experience with livestreaming production (OBS, Wirecast, vMix, or similar).
  • Passion for public media and mission-driven storytelling.
  • Experience in marketing, advertising, nonprofit, or media environments.
  • Shooting/field production experience.

 

 

SALARY RANGE
$60,000-$68,000, annually depending on experience

LOCATION:

We expect that this position will work out of our downtown Dallas office at least 50% of the time. More time on or offsite may be required based on production schedule.
