Description
Basic Function and Responsibilities: To support the digital media strategy at St. Louis Public Radio by elevating the visual presence of the station on a variety of platforms. Eye-catching visuals help meet our goals of growing our audience and deepening engagement to fulfill our public service mission. This work is accomplished through graphic design for digital and print distribution and front-end web design for St. Louis Public Radio’s digital products.
Characteristic Duties:
- Develop graphic design material for digital and print distribution that may include infographics, logos, website ads, posters, e-newsletters and other digital publications;
- Design and develop digital products on desktop and mobile;
- Enhance and maintain existing web properties;
- Design and produce e-communications;
- Standardize visual identity and branding across a variety of platforms.
Qualifications:
Minimum:
- Baccalaureate degree in a related field and at least two years experience in digital media arts;
- Demonstrated expertise in graphic design and front-end website design and development;
- Advanced skills with digital media production software including, but not limited to, Adobe Creative Suite;
- Fluency in HTML5 and CSS3;
Preferred:
- Ability to solve problems and adapt quickly to new design and industry trends;
- Demonstrated organizational skills to manage multiple projects under deadlines;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to promote collaboration;
- A proactive, service-oriented attitude toward team members;
- Ability to take direction and learn from constructive criticism;
- Established record of professionalism and strong work ethic;
- An appreciation of public media and a desire to support the mission of St. Louis Public Radio and nonprofit journalism;
- Ability to create motion graphics;
- Experience creating responsive design for desktop and mobile web.
