Station Fined by FCC Due to “Promotional” Product or Service Mentions

The FCC has proposed a $3,000 fine on noncommercial station WOBO(FM), Batavia, Ohio, for three announcements that violate FCC’s rules. Two of the announcements involved descriptions that were deemed to be promotional because they included too many product or service mentions. One announcement stated that a feed and pet supply store offered “bulk and bag mulch, peat moss, potting soil, bulk top soil and decorative borders” as well as “pickup and delivery.” The second announcement…
