The Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Accessibility, and Belonging (DEIAB) Cohort is an affinity group for DEIAB practitioners and consultants working in public media.
Dr. Byron Green-Calisch, Vice President of Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Accessibility at PRX; Shayna Schlosberg, Equity Leader of OPB; and Sway Steward, Equity & Inclusion Advisor for Greater Public have teamed up to launch the first-ever Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Accessibility, and Belonging (DEIAB) Cohort of practitioners working within public media.
Initial Goals of this Cohort
- Community: Establish and grow connections between leaders working full-time on DEIAB within the public media industry
- Shared Language: Learn from each other through sharing findings and resources to ensure commonality around the language and practices we are implementing internally
- Outreach: Develop ways to aid stations and organizations that are struggling to build equitable, diverse, and inclusive workplaces, especially those that cannot employ a DEIAB practitioner or consultant
At this time, we are exclusively inviting those who work as DEIAB practitioners within stations/organizations as well as independent consultants leading equity work in public media. We hope to develop additional ways to support other station leaders, as well as internal DEIAB committee chairs and members, in the future.
Professionals who oversee DEIAB and are interested in attending future meetings are asked to complete this questionnaire and they will receive notifications about future cohort meetings.
