Description
KTOO Public Media seeks a dynamic, community minded fundraiser to lead our development team in Juneau, Alaska. The Community Fundraising Director will be responsible for the strategic growth of community-based fundraising initiatives that support our mission including individual and philanthropic giving. The Community Fundraising Director will also serve as an organizational leader, envisioning strategies to build meaningful connections with current and prospective donors and ultimately grow revenue to support KTOO’s mission to provide our community with trusted news, build connection through music and the arts, promote civic participation, and embrace diverse viewpoints and cultures.
The Community Fundraising Director reports to the President and General Manager at KTOO. They also provide inspired leadership to KTOO fundraising staff and serve on KTOO’s senior management team.
Essential Duties:
- Setting fundraising vision and creating integrated fundraising plans for all KTOO Public Media Services (KTOO, KRNN, KXLL, 360TV and associated digital products)
- Providing strategic direction for KTOO’s membership program; developing multi-channel communication campaigns focused on strengthening relationship with existing and prospective donors; growing annual revenue
- Collaborating with the General Manager of KTOO Music and Arts to plan and execute on-air membership campaigns
- Seeking grant funding and preparing processes to manage stewardship of Foundation relationships and reporting
- Collaborating with the Major Giving Officer to identify and cultivate major gift prospects; soliciting major gifts to advance KTOO’s work in the community
- Overseeing and collaborating with the Community Sponsorship Manager to set sponsorship goals, monitoring performance, and providing support as needed
- Utilizing data to determine department progress toward stated goals and revising strategy as necessary
- Leading the annual preparation of fundraising goals and projections in collaboration with development staff and General Manager and working with the organization’s finance teams to ensure revenue and expense budgets are accurately tracked
- Supporting, nurturing, and effectively communicating with fundraising staff; encouraging the team’s professional development; providing for an environment that is collaborative, high functioning and where the team feels valued and recognized
Training, Skills, Knowledge and/or Experience: (R) if required or (P) if preferred
- Understanding of the mission of public media organizations, and the capability to articulate the mission to community partners and donors (R)
- Ability to work respectfully and collaboratively with KTOO staff along with external community partners (R)
- Strong acumen for fundraising and donor management (R)
- Strong oral and written communications skills (R)
- Excellent organizational, time management and teamwork skills (R)
- Three years of relevant experience in non-profit development (P)
- Experience working and leading cross-functional teams across an organization (P)
- Three years of relevant experience in personnel and team management (P)
- Experience analyzing data and setting data-driven strategies and goals (P)

Annual Salary: $68,400 – $71,860
