Salisbury University (SU) is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Development Director & Deputy General Manager for Delmarva Public Media (DPM). DPM is a public radio cooperative between Salisbury University and the University of Maryland Eastern Shore, an is comprised of three radio stations, 89.5 FM Classical Delmarva, 90.7 FM Rhythm and News, and 91.3 FM Jazz, Blues and NPR News.
Primary Job Duties: Under supervision of DPM General Manager, oversee development/revenue generating and promotional activities for Delmarva Public Media, including but not limited to Underwriting/Sales & Client Service, Membership/Listener-Support, Marketing and Outreach, Major Giving, Grant Applications & Administration including CPB Compliance, Planned Giving, Fundraising events (on- and off-campus), and collaboration/cooperation with Salisbury University, University of Maryland Eastern Shore, and the Salisbury University Foundation. This position also serves as the on-site deputy manager and budget administrator for the Salisbury University stations and is the on-site supervisor for the Business Office, Membership, Sales, News and Programming Staff.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in a related field. 3-5 years’ experience coordinating and leading development activities – including membership support, sales, marketing, special events, major giving, grants, etc.) in a non-profit environment.
Must be detail oriented and have excellent interpersonal, customer service, organization and planning, prioritization, problem solving, follow through, time management, and oral and written communication skills. Also, must be flexible and possess the ability to successfully handle multiple tasks/projects simultaneously and work well under pressure, work independently and in a team-oriented environment. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite is required (Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point) is required.
Preferred Qualifications: management experience, public broadcasting experience, membership or sales database management experience.
