Functional Title: Principle and Senior Major Gifts Officer
The Principle and Senior Major Gifts Officer will contribute to the overall development strategy of WUCF. This position will possess a unique ability to raise donor sights, articulate aspirational goals and ideas, set priorities, and present philanthropic opportunities. S/He will participate in discussions related to campaign planning, volunteer management, and goal setting, and serve as the lead in all principle giving activities.
This position identifies, cultivates, solicits and stewards leadership gift prospects and donors with a capacity to make gifts of at least $50,000 – $1 million+. The Senior Officer will develop and implement strategic plans aimed at maximizing transformational individual gifts as well as specific high potential corporate gifts.
- Raise donor sights, articulate aspirational goals and ideas, set priorities, and present philanthropic opportunities.
- Collaborate with senior leaders, program directors and fellow development professionals to raise significant funds to further the mission and goals of WUCF.
- Also includes FM fundraising.
- Familiarity with planned giving and financial and estate planning concepts;
- Work effectively with all constituencies; with an understanding for what motivates and influences giving among all generations of prospects and donors;
- Lead to drive change, establish sound processes and procedures, and formulate performance metrics to measure impact.
Minimum Qualification: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree; and 6+ years of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications: High level of integrity, ethics, leadership and professionalism required.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to interact effectively with academic leadership, faculty, prospects, donors, and volunteers in a wide range of roles;
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work across a complex organization;
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
- Demonstrated analytical and strategic thinking capabilities; the ability to embrace challenges and thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment;
- Proficient in MS Office and ability to learn new software programs.
