Description
Development Officer
Rio Salado’s Division of Public Service is looking for an enthusiastic, driven fundraising professional to join our development team in Tempe.
The development officer coordinates, implements and analyzes data using a division-wide database. The officer also identifies prospective donors and members, tracks contributions and donor contacts, as well as monitors communications with donors and/or program members through appropriate software.
The Division of Public Service is home to three award-winning public radio stations — KJZZ, KBACH and Sun Sounds — in addition to the SPOT 127 Youth Media Center.
Essential Functions
20% – Extracts data from division wide data base for the purpose of fundraising campaigns specific to special events, car donation programs, and membership engagement.
20% – Performs analysis and prepares reports in project management software and special event database to determine timelines, strategic outcomes for campaigns and development initiatives.
20% – Provides professional level support and guidance to volunteers and team members for special event and other fund raising activities.
20% – Plans, organizes, and assigns the work of volunteers
10% – Provides professional level support and guidance to other campaign team members and volunteers related to fundraising activities. Maintains liaison with other administrators and outside organizations.
10% – Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution in marketing, communications or related field and two years of experience assisting with and/or coordinating various fundraising campaigns and activities.
OR
An equivalent combination of the conferred degree and directly related full-time work experience as described above sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation, may be considered.
Desired Qualifications
1. College degree or college level classes in business, marketing or communications.
2. One year or more experience as an administrative assistant in a professional setting.
3. One year or more experience working in a fast-paced environment.
4. One year or more experience facilitating events such as scheduling appointments and meetings.
5. One year or more experience working with volunteers or a membership databases.
