Our values of creativity, curiosity, ethics, inclusiveness and respectfulness inspire, inform and guide our everyday actions. They serve as a set of expectations we make to ourselves, our partners and audiences.
The new hire is expected to reside in the Denver Metro area upon starting – this is not a remote position.
About the Position:
You will be the final touchpoint for stories, responsible for producing and adding edited content to the website. You will optimize digital content through audience development tactics and conduct quality checks. Managing social media platforms, training new colleagues on digital workflow, and coordinating content submissions will be crucial. About You:

You are self motivated with strong attention to detail and a meticulous approach to quality control, with the ability to identify and correct formatting errors and to optimize digital content for maximum impact. You have a proficiency in digital production tools and platforms, including content management systems, and social media management tools. You also have top-notch interpersonal abilities and value collaborating with a dynamic team that shares responsibilities.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 3 – 5 years of experience related to the position. This experience should include working knowledge of AP style, online journalism ethics, and news writing experience that includes some email newsletter writing. This should also include experience producing clean copy and an understanding of how to use different writing voices for different brands or products.
- Experience coordinating social media accounts.
- Experience with working in a deadline-driven environment that requires juggling multiple priorities.
- Digital literacy knowledge including some HTML experience and the ability to be a quick learner of new apps and content management systems.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- While not required, it’s preferable if our new hire has familiarity with audience strategy; the ability to imagine different approaches to a story that might center those most directly impacted; understanding the user’s journey from their first interaction all the way through becoming a loyal user or direct supporter.
- While not required, it’s preferable if you have a familiarity with email newsletters from a consumer and producer perspective.
- While not required, it’s preferable if you have news story editing experience (including light photo editing).
- While not required, it’s preferable if you have some audio editing experience, including trimming clips and adjusting levels.
Education Equivalency:
- A relevant degree (including multimedia, digital and new media journalism, front end web development, and marketing degrees that bring together technology and audience-first thinking) might replace some of the minimum years of experience required to qualify for this position.
