St. Louis Public Radio | 90.7 KWMU, St. Louis’ NPR station located in Grand Center, is seeking a dynamic, creative major gift fundraising professional to join our team. Responsibilities include leading and directing significant major gift fundraising to secure philanthropic support for capital, endowment and other campaigns and articulated projects/initiates for St. Louis Public Radio.
Detailed Responsibilities:
- As part of a nine-person development team, work closely with the development director, general manager, major gifts team and volunteers to identify and strategically cultivate, solicit and steward high level prospects.
- In collaboration with development director, provide leadership and guidance for campaign operational strategy, management and processes including timelines, objectives and metrics.
- Manage a dedicated portfolio of donors and prospects within moves management.
- Develop written fundraising proposals, letters and other communications for individuals, corporations, foundations and grantors.
- Arrange cultivation and solicitation visits with donors and prospects.
- Provide consistent follow-up after meetings, events and other activities to secure commitments or move relationships forward.
- Demonstrate a passion for the importance, urgency, exclusivity and the power of public radio/media to improve lives, and a desire to work in a trusted organization that serves the educational, cultural and informational needs of the community.
Qualifications:
Minimum:
Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least five years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.
The ideal candidate will:
- have leadership experience in major gift, campaign fundraising, planned giving, grant proposal writing;
- have a proven ability and willingness to solicit $10,000+ annual gifts and $100,000+ campaign gifts;
- be highly motivated, a strategic thinker and passionate about the mission of St. Louis Public Radio;
- be able to build relationships with individuals from various backgrounds;
- have the ability to work in teams and also be independent and self-motivated while managing multiples tasks and meeting deadlines;
- and have excellent interpersonal communication and donor relationship skills.
