Description
KCUR 89.3, Kansas City’s NPR affiliate, is looking for an experienced editorial leader to oversee the work of our accomplished news, talk show and creative teams. The Director of Journalism’s primary responsibility will be to ensure that KCUR reports, produces and distributes news, information and other content that meet the highest standards of public service in journalism and cultural expression.
The ideal candidate for this role is an advocate for audiences and an experienced collaborator. He/she relishes the work of management (projects and people), and has a keen editor’s eye, strategic sensibilities and expertise in broadcast and digital platforms. We are seeking someone with a belief in KCUR’s potential to provide an authentic take on news and life in the Kansas City region – and a vision for how public media journalists can credibly serve their communities in complicated times.
It’s a big job, one that we hope will make a difference in Kansas City and journalism in general for years to come.
