The Director of Leadership Giving at Interlochen Public Radio (IPR) leads the strategy and execution of the Leadership Annual Giving (LAG) program, cultivating annual gifts of $1,000 and above to support IPR’s mission and programming. This dynamic role manages a robust portfolio of leadership-level donors and prospects while partnering closely with IPR staff and Interlochen Center for the Arts’ Philanthropy team to implement high-impact solicitation, stewardship, and acquisition strategies. With an understanding of public media and donor engagement, the Director fosters meaningful relationships, identifies opportunities for donor upgrades, and supports major gift pipeline development. This position also serves as a key liaison for donor engagement initiatives including personalized appeals, challenge gift coordination, and management of the Executive Director’s donor engagement.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

– Work directly with a portfolio of managed prospects for stewardship, solicitation, and relationship growth with the station to encourage leadership gifts to IPR.
– Ensure all strategies, prospect stage information, planned and completed tasks, including contact reports, are recorded in Salesforce.
Engage leadership donors as Matching Challengers for IPR on-air drives and other special initiatives.
– Continuously monitor individual giving behavior of LAG donors, to identify and qualify major donors ($10,000+) to IPR.
– Manage the Executive Director of IPR’s interaction with key donors and volunteers
– Perform personalized outreach (solicitation and stewardship) to a broad base of LAG donors/prospects. Serve as gift officer contact, as appropriate, for LAG level donor/prospect unmanaged accounts.
– Create/enhance personalized solicitations for managed LAG donors with regularly scheduled appeal mailings and provide ongoing input and feedback for leadership segments of scheduled appeal mailings throughout the fiscal year.
– Monitor giving behaviors for the LAG program (upgrades, downgrades, overall growth, retention and other relevant trends) for the LAG program and adjust strategies accordingly.
– Maintain an active, current knowledge of Interlochen Public Radio and public media in general, its activities and fundraising needs and priorities.
Foster and maintain productive relationships with colleagues within Philanthropy and across the Interlochen campus.
– Seek regular professional development opportunities (webinars, conferences, peer-to-peer collaboration, etc.) to continuously improve the Leadership Annual Giving program at IPR.
– Seeks the best use of materials, equipment and staff to maximize efficiency and effectiveness.
– Complies with ICA/IPR policies/procedures and acts as a good steward of ICA/IPR finances.
– Respects the culture, diversity and rights of all students, their families and the community.
– Prioritizes duties in a manner consistent with organizational objectives and growth.
– Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements:
– Bachelor’s degree required.
– 2-5 years of experience preferred in individual giving and/or annual giving program management preferred.
– Familiarity with classical music, public media, is a plus. Will consider relevant professional experience.
– Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with donors, colleagues, and community partners.
– Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare donor materials and deliver information in a professional manner.
– Demonstrated success in individual or leadership annual giving, with experience contributing to donor engagement and fundraising outcomes.
– Solid organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
– Attention to detail and the ability to follow and implement verbal and written instructions accurately.
– Ability to work collaboratively across departments while maintaining a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.
