JOB SUMMARY

The Marketing Coordinator is responsible for helping the team execute on various deliverables across the department. The position would support needs under the Director of Communications, Creative Director and Digital Director and would also be tasked with keeping the department on track as far as internal deadlines and administrative tasks are concerned. The coordinator will also be tasked with providing editorial support for the department.

Salary Range- $40,000 to $46,000

Lehigh Valley Public Media is a growing community-owned public media organization with a television station and an NPR radio station serving Eastern Pennsylvania and Western New Jersey. We offer local, national, and international programming that informs, educates, and entertains while serving as a catalyst for civic engagement. In addition, we are rebuilding our newsroom and creating a new digital platform to reinvigorate our community with journalism that informs and enlightens.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Executing on email marketing campaigns, social media content including copy and creative, as well as larger pieces of collateral like brochures, sell sheets and more for departments across the organization.
  • Serve as a copy editor and proofreader for all content produced by the department (i.e. TV promos, press releases and creative pieces)
  • Serve as a liaison with other departments to ensure processes and protocols best support the marketing & communications department
  • Provide defined support as a content producer for digital marketing, communications and for event strategy execution

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • 1-3 years of marketing communications experience
  • Strong writing and editing skills required
  • Proven interpersonal skills and the ability to work as part of a cross functional team
  • Working knowledge Adobe Creative Suite (i.e. Avid, Adobe Premier, Final Cut, Audition)
  • Understand and be able to demonstrate proper use of the newest social media practices (i.e. platform specific content best practices, SEO familiarity etc.)
  • Demonstrated organizational capabilities and proactively engage on projects and initiatives with senior staff members
  • Creative and passionate; ability to work on multiple projects at once and ability to pivot to prioritize everchanging needs on short notice.

MINIMUM DEGREE/TRAINING REQUIRED TO PERFORM POSITION’S RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, Journalism, English or equivalent experience. Minimum one (1) year of relevant marketing communications work experience
  • Understanding/experience working with project management software preferred
