Description
WYPR’s Member Services Associate will support the Development Department in creating the best possible experience for all members of the Your Public family. Qualified candidates will love public radio, be highly organized, and have impeccable customer service skills.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support the Membership Manager in all aspects of processing incoming membership revenue and propelling the administrative gift process from receipt to thank you letter.
- Serve all Your Public members with their needs, questions, and concerns via email, phone, mail, and in-person.
- Contribute to the success and growth of development goals by serving as an active contributor to campaign planning.
- Continually advocate for Your Public Radio’s development goals by stewarding members encouraging through renewing and upgrading their support at every opportunity.
- Actively participate in the expert management of all member records with detail to accuracy and confidentiality
- Support all development direct mail efforts with a focus on creating valuable touchpoints with our supporters
- Maintain accurate inventory of promotional supplies & gifts; research potential vendors & obtain quotes for promotional items
- Expertly manage a system for fulfilling member gift requests
- Monitor, order, and organize Development department supplies
- Coordinate with Events personnel to maintain calendar of events where Development needs to attend &/or send promotional materials
- Maintain a working familiarity with WYPR, WTMD, Your Public Radio, and NPR – hosts, programs and other related information in order to respond to member inquiries and comments
- Assist and collaborate with other departments when necessary
- Foster a positive creative and productive work environment
- Able to work at occasional after-hours events
- Work on other duties and projects for Director of Development as assigned, such as logistics support for special events or projects

Education & Experience Requirements:
- One to three years related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Highly organized and able to juggle multiple priorities simultaneously and independently.
- Proven experience entering and maintaining complex financial data and managing database.
- Customer service experience and the desire to exceed member expectations.
- Proficient in standard computer applications (Outlook, Excel, Word).
- Represent WYPR at events and public functions on evenings and weekends occasionally as needed.
- Self-motivated and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to effectively interface with staff, Board members, community members, and volunteers.
- A strong affinity and enthusiasm for public radio (bordering on obsession is preferable.)
- The ability to lift 45 pounds regularly.
