Description
The Membership Department for WTIU and WFIU is seeking a highly motivated, effective team player with proven computer and communications skills, a willingness to learn and an enthusiasm for excellent customer service. The Member Services Coordinator serves as office manager for the WTIU/WFIU Membership Department; manages the volunteer program; and participates in the coordination and implementation of both stations’ on-air membership campaigns. The Member Services Coordinator creates and maintains computerized donor records for WTIU and WFIU; answers the main membership hotline and responds to public/member queries; maintains inventory of office and bulk mailing supplies; orders and fulfills thank-you gift and other member benefit requests; and provides financial oversight of the purchasing activity. |
REQUIRED: High school diploma or GED and three years of administrative office experience. Possess a valid driver’s license with the ability to be insured by Indiana University. Knowledge of public broadcasting; excellent customer service, interpersonal, and communication skills including ability to work with a diverse group of people, i.e., community volunteers, other IU departments and vendors; and strong writing and proofreading abilities. Strong computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Office including Excel, Word and Outlook as well as ability to use web search browsers and to learn new software quickly; and very accurate keyboard and data entry skills. Demonstrated organizational and multi-tasking skills including ability to manage multiple priorities while adhering to deadlines, juggle multiple tasks and projects, and function in a high-pressure environment due to frequent deadlines; and excellent attention to detail. |
Bachelor’s degree with emphasis on writing, communication or related field; previous experience with marketing or public relations, accounting, data processing/reporting, computer network, supervision, nonprofit fundraising or donor cultivation, customer service and prior use of Allegiance database software; knowledge of IU and IU Foundation systems. |
Note: This position requires ability to work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends; and perform periodic heavy lifting. |
