Description
WFSU Public Media, located in Tallahassee, FL, is a joint licensee of Florida State University and is the PBS and NPR affiliate for Northern Florida and Southern Georgia. WFSU is currently seeking an experienced, high-energy individual to lead the station’s Membership Department.
This position reports directly to the WFSU Development Director and is responsible for identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding all members and prospects. Develops and implements donor acquisition, engagement and prospecting plans. Works with staff to identify needs and giving opportunities; implementing tactics for direct mail campaigns, telemarketing and special events. Direct supervision of all aspects related to on-air pledge drives, database management activities and strategic planning.
The successful candidate will need to have a Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 4 years’ experience in the membership, development or fundraising field, with preference given to those who have experience in public broadcasting. Strong computer skills and proficiency with donor/membership databases and software is highly encouraged. Excellent communication skills, previous experience managing a team, successful coordination of events/fundraisers, and a proven track record of achieving revenue through fundraising practices is required.
