About the Opportunity

The University of Florida College of Journalism and Communications Division of Media Properties seeks a WUFT FM/WUFT Classic Brand Manager/Producer to serve on the programming, operations and production team supporting primarily the operation of WUFT-TV, the market’s PBS public television station, WUFT-FM, the news/talk NPR affiliate, WUFT Classic, the classical/arts station for the Gainesville-Ocala, Florida market and other associated media properties platforms.

 

The Brand Manager will be responsible for programming and traffic of the radio stations.  Key elements of support the position provides to the media properties team focuses on the master control operations and radio, coordination of the daily logs and working with the underwriting and technical support teams of the organization to ensure the smooth operation of the television and radio stations from a programming and content standpoint.  The position has a strong understanding of the systems that operate WUFT-FM (and associated sub-channels) and WUFT Classic and works with WUFT’s Director of Content and programming team staff to make sure each program, underwriting credit, promotional announcement and live program is aired according to the program log and the intentions of the station leadership.  The position also oversees on-air and production staff, the production of audio programming and associated content to ensure the radio, web and mobile platforms have professional and effective underwriting credits, promotional announcements and station positioning spots to support the continued growth of WUFT-FM and the associated sub-channels.

EXPECTED SALARY:

$60,000 – $70,000

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s degree and two years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree and five to seven years of relevant experience and knowledge of public radio programming and systems.

This is an office-based position located in Weimer Hall on the main UF campus.

Work hours are Monday-Friday 9:00am-5:00pm with occasional additional hours for emergency situations/breaking news/technical issues that result in the position needing to be on site for issue resolution, etc.
